Garam's Travel Diary to Tongyeong
Garam's Travel Diary to Tongyeong
August 16th
I got up at six in the morning.
It was the first day of my family trip to Tongyeong.
I was excited!
We arrived at Jungang Market at 1 p.m.
There we had Chungmu gimbap for lunch.
There was only rice inside the roll!
Dad said, “Try the roll with radish and squid.
Long ago, fishermen had Chungmu gimbap out at sea.”
It was a bit spicy but tasty.
Chungmu is Tongyeong’s old name.
In the afternoon, we went to Yi Sun-sin Park.
There was a huge statue of Admiral Yi.
I imagined the great battle right off the coast of Tongyeong.
Then we enjoyed taking a walk along the coast.
The sunset was beautiful.
I closed my eyes.
I could feel Admiral Yi’s love for the country.
Everything was really peaceful.
August 17th
Early in the morning, we went to Dongpirang.
There were many pretty paintings on the walls.
It was the best place for taking pictures!
Mom and I took hundreds of pictures.
Finally, my dad said, “Please stop! No more pictures!”
‘Dong’ means ‘east,’ and ‘pirang’ means ‘cliff.’
There is also Seopirang.
Next, we went to the Jeon Hyuck-lim Museum of Art.
The painter’s nickname is ‘The Magician of Color.’
He painted the sea of Tongyeong with various blue colors.
I enjoyed his paintings very much.
What a great experience!
Going on a family trip is always fun.
Tongyeong, bye for now!
See you next time!
