Harry, the Hedgehog
Harry was very excited.
It was his first day at a new school.
On his way to school, he thought, ‘I want to make a lot of friends.’
When he entered the classroom, everyone looked at him.
Harry said, “Hi, I’m Harry. Nice to meet you.”
They looked at his spines curiously.
At lunchtime,
At lunchtime, Harry’s classmates were playing soccer.
“Harry, join us!”
Peter, the pig, kicked the soccer ball to Harry.
When Harry jumped to catch the ball, the ball went flat.
“Oh, no! We can’t play soccer anymore.
Let’s go inside.”
The classmates left the playground.
Harry was alone.
On the school bus,
On the school bus, Harry found Ruby, the friendly rabbit.
“Hi, Harry!” Ruby waved at him.
Harry went to sit next to Ruby.
“Ouch!” Harry's spines hurt Ruby.
“Oh, I’m sorry, Ruby.”
Harry went to the back seat.
He was alone again.
“Nobody likes me because of these spines.”
Harry felt really sad.
A few weeks later,
A few weeks later, Harry was sitting in the back of the classroom.
It was his birthday.
His classmates were talking about something.
Then they left the classroom without Harry.
Harry felt so lonely.
Soon,
Soon, his classmates called Harry.
“Harry, come out!”
When Harry went outside, his classmates were waiting for him.
They were wearing sponge jackets.
“Happy birthday, Harry!
This is for you!”
Ruby gave a box to him.
Harry was surprised.
Harry gladly opened the box and looked inside.
There was a jacket for Harry.
“I love it!”
Harry put on the jacket.
Then all the classmates hugged Harry.
A happy smile spread on Harry’s face.
He wasn’t lonely anymore.
